Willing to be Innovaive
The Sustainable Community Project assigned in LEAD 7100 required a creative presentation to showcase our community project to our peers online. I chose to incorporate the information for my project by using a PowerPoint in a unique way. Instead of overwhelming the PowerPoint with related text, I decided to take the viewer on a self-guided tour of the Memphis Farmers Market through each slide. By using pictures and making the information personal to the viewer, I believe the use of technology in this way enhanced my presentation, as well as provided my peers with information in an innovative way.

Open to Change
At the start of the fall semester in 2014, I served as the Graduate Assistant for the Educational Support Program at the University of Memphis. In effort to participate in the professional development of the campus community, I decided to apply for the Graduate Assistant position in the office of Career Services. My ability to be open to change has provided me with opportunities and practical experience that I would have not received otherwise, as well as exposed me to a variety of aspects related to student affairs.

Desire to Continue Learning
During my time in the Leadership and Policy Studies program, I have always been encouraged to seek opportunities that will aid in my personal and professional development. In effort to continue to grow as a competent educational leader I attended the 2015 Memphis in May Student Affairs Conference. The one-day conference provided me the opportunity to share ideas and expertise regarding issues, challenges and successes in higher education and student affairs.
